Breeding and Sales
We are currently working on setting the foundation of our herd. While we do not have any alpacas for sale at this time we will be making some decisions on a few candidates for 2024 or 2025.
Herd Dynamics
On the farm you will find four different groups of alpacas. They are not always in the same pastures as we practice rotational grazing to maintain healthy pastures and give the floofs the maximum amount of grass possible. Males and females must always be separate unless a male cria (baby) is nursing. We group the females according to nutritional needs - moms and kids in one along with moms to be approaching their due dates. Single ladies and ones in the beginning to mid term pregnancy in the other. Males are grouped according to the ones that get along and the ones that deserve each other. Joking aside, we really do have to consider the size and temperament of the boys and who will be able to get along and defend themselves during hormonal scuffles.
